Back To Basics (Wrong)

Can we like start over here? Because I'm was just perusing a couple of old post's. And I'm not sure that it does'nt seem like some of you (the readership's) aren't getting the right point on how, The Iraq War wasn't right (i.e. wrong).

So lets go back. Background. In 2003 the U.S. did a Iraq War. It was done on a country call Iraq. Thats who we did the war on (FYI). So that's hte context here.

Now. When you do a war on someone it can be Right or Wrong. Thats how wars work. Spanish Civil War: Right. Vietnam War: Wrong. En cetera.

The next observation is that when you did a war. You have to spend the next period of time (years or whatever) talking about whether it was Right or Wrong. You can't just not do that can you. Absurd. If it was Wrong you have to keep talking about it (later). Until everone also says it was Wrong. There can't be a person

So what I did here is to create a blog space where, we I could blog about that for The Iraq War (2003/Iraq). Until you all say it was wrong. For awhile I thought I was done. But I look back now and, waht a dalusion. Because The Iraq War still happened (in 2003). And yet I'm not sure you all say it was Wrong? (Answer in comment's)

That's the deal ok. So, sorry for confusion on this. But maybe my fault. So lets take a step back and go slower/more carefullly:

A Humble Note About How, The Iraq War Was Wrong

You know why I was crying all most of lasted night. Because of the museum. Howcomes noone rememeber's about the museum? So many thing's in there I bet. King Tut. Other mummie's. Rosetta Stones. THe Ark. The Mona Lisa. Jackson Pollack's. All these things and more, I could imagine was in the Bagdad Museum. (*Not sure exact contents)

Listen. This is the cost of The Iraq War. It is something we still have to live with in are, everyday walk-in/walk-about lifes. I'm not sure how but we have, to. But we wouldn't of have to if was just didn't of done The Iraq War. This is what I'm am saying. (<--The Iraq War was wrong.

Folk's, it is August of 2011 as I write this. Here is a blogpost from May 2004 which I'm saying the, exact same thing. So I've have been VERY consitent on this. Have I ever wavered no. That's how you can know. The point I am making. THis isn't a flash in a pan here. This is a blog about how The Iraq War was wrong.

Together, we are going to make it wrong (with blogging). The Iraq War that we did in 2003. There is NOTHING more improtant to are future, our future's children's, or our future's futures chidlrens to, keep on saying that The Iraq War was wrong and not stop saying it until it IS was.

We felted VERY strongly about this back in circa 2003 and 2004. And, we still fell the EXACT same strongly right now, today, here in now time (2012 approximatley) with under President Obama. Which is why we don't stop saying it just as often as we were back in teh day. Saying what? The Iraq War was wrong silly.

Did everone just forget The Iraq War was wrong. Or. Did everone just say to themselfs even though The Iraq War was wrong I'm am going to go and vote for this dhinger anyway (even though The Iraq War was wrong). Of 2003

To not to belabor the point - if the The Iraq War was wrong. But than you go and vote for a the dhinger? Um lol do I really have to explain the hole in that. It's almost funny it's so sad.

The only saving grace is how we FINALLY got heathcare. I have complained to my doctor SO MANY TIME'S over the years (both on scheduled visits and just times when I felt some twinge and decided to just do a drop in) about how there's no heathcare in this country well WE FINALLALY DID IT PEOPLE. So that's a thing of which, we can all (as progressives). Something we could of never hoped for when we were doing The Iraq War (and still hadn't made proved it was wrong)

If I was teaching Social Studies (if I was a teacher- which I could of been (long story) I would finish with a unit on Heathcare. I bet its is going to be in next years's addition actually that would be a site to behold. You could frame/brownze it next to the newspaper you kepts from the day after when a the Barack Obama was elected the first President. (A black man).

The Main Reasons

Let's for those newcomers to this my our blog let's here's a quick refresher on some of the main reasons why The Iraq War Was Wrong. (Sorry this will be repetive for regular readership's)

Not meant to be a complete list (I'm sure I'm leaving out a few dozens). In no particular order:

Joe Wilson checked it out, and the names were wrong and the dates were wrong.
France didn't want it to occur.
France, which is our ally, didn't ally with us in doing it. (Which, how is that even is possible.)
The Baghdad museum was looted after it happened.
Bush "cut and run". (Remember?) Which is bad.
Because there was a Surge (i.e. the number of troops stationed there went from something like 120k to something like 140k). Which is bad.
There wasn't a second UN resolution after the first one (just the first one). Needed two.
"Shock and awe" is a horrible term and an evil approach to doing things. (Also, Iraqis weren't actually shocked or awed, which is bad.)
Hussein was a Sunni and everyone knows Sunnis can't physically cooperate/do anything with Shiites.
The Neocons wanted it to occur before it happened (PNAC had that website).
CIA agents were nearby when the statue came down.
There was a British journalist (forget his name) who killed himself.
They shot at journalists in a hotel.
Because of Manicheanism.
Deep-cover agent Valerie Plame's cover was exposed, which hurts us all (but also her).
There was a Rush To War.
The US was just going to plant WMDs anyway.
Bush only did it to please his father.
Tony Blair was Bush's poodle/lapdog.
It made The World hate us (i.e. France, Germany, Belgium).
Murtha was known as quote "a hawk" and he was not in favor of it (later).
On account of the blood and treasure (esp. the treasure).
It distracted us from fighting the real war on terror, which by statute is located in Afghanistan.
It played right into Osama's hands (exactly what he wanted).
It played right into Iran's hands (exactly what they wanted).
We didn't have a full, complete, foolproof plan for reconstructing the country into a social-democratic constitutional republic.
The purple fingers are such a joke and the election was not legitimate.
There was violence in Iraq after it happened (i.e. it didn't make there be no violence in Iraq).
Because Iraq had no WMDs (how can you attack a country that has no WMDs).
Because if we invaded there was a danger Iraq would use WMDs on our troops.
Because of the plastic turkey.
It just created more terrorists (just look at all the terrorists that have been created).
It didn't make us safer. We are totally less safe now (just look at how unsafe we now are).
It was a war Of Choice.
We only did it for Israel, at Israel's beckoning. To make Israel safe (just look at how safe Israel now is, they are sitting pretty).
Bush told reporters to "now watch this drive".
Bush rushed the vote for the war powers resolution.
Because of Catholic "Just War" Theory. It totally went against Catholic "Just War" Theory.
Because it's bad to be theocratic.
We only did it to steal their oil (just look at all the oil we now got from them for free).
We only did it to gain a foothold from which to attack Iran (just look at how much we've totally attacked Iran from it).
Bush only did it because he's a Bible-thumper and wanted to bring about Armageddon.
A former CIA director admitted Iraq war was "wrong".
They totally cherry-picked.
Iraq's government can't be legitimate without Sunnis.
It's bad that Ba'athists haven't been purged from Iraq's government.
On account of how Bush is mendacious.
Everyone knows Iraq should be split into three.
Iraq is on the Brink of a civil war.

Six Years Is A Long Time To Be Wrong

As many of you know, it was six years ago today tomorrow it was taht I first posted my first hestoric blog post stating forcefully that The Iraq War Was Wrong. History will record that day as the one when (after some prior false starts) I first began to FIGHT BACK in blog form against not saying The Iraq War Was wrong. And to this day, I still maintain that that blog post was among some of the very greatest blog posts I every posted.

Well that was 2004 so many things was different then. I'm trying to think of some I'm sure there was alot. Like there was no Iphones (for starters). And in that time, ALOT of stuffs has happen. People went into high school and then came back out. Some people probaly started and finished there Master's or even PHD's programs while during I've been blogging this blog. But one thing is not different (in 2010 which is now): that The Iraq War Was Wrong.

That's why there's this blog and there's will alway's be this blog. Because The Iraq War Was Wrong. It will never not be was. That's the tragedy of it most of all.

Howcome Were Not Having A National Conservation About How The Iraq War Was Wrong (Anymore)

We need to talk about this like ALOT more than we actually are. If your not talking about it, like right now (at LEAST 3-6x per day), whats wrong with you? You suck thats what. Serously. You. Suck.

Sorry guy's just alittle emotional for me. The Iraq War - was a war that we did in 2003. And yet its only 2010 and were' not national conversationing about it even like 30% as much as we use to. You could probably turn on 20/20 or Dateline or 60 Minutes and (occasionally) see at least 2-3 WHOLE WEEKS of show's that go by without a SINGLE story on how The Iraq War was wrong. Movies about how The Iraq War was wrong? Don't even get me strated, there use to be like 10+ per year released that were explicitly about Iraq, and 40-90 more that were only about Iraq metaphorically. Now there's a virtual dearth. Ok sure there is Avatar but after that?

And where are our rock bands, the last bastions of turth to power, on this nowadays? AOL.

Personally I wonder if the Corporations have been squishing the conversation about The Iraq War. (Because they totally support rapping that country of its national resources for the "so" called "bottom line" probaly). Does Congress need to get involve? Because I donnow what else to do. It's exasperating me.

Sometime's readersips get up in my face all desappointed b/c I don't talk about how The Iraq War was wrong 100% of the time (more like 70-80%). Like when I'm talking about heatchare.

Well I'm sorry. But look, what you need to understand. Is that The Iraq War being wrong was the most improtant issue in the history of humankind from approx. 2003-2008. It totally was. And this blog reflected that. Yes.

So why then? Well again. Like I said, and I'll say it again for epmashes, up until circa 2008 (near the end of that year), the Iraq War being wrong was the MOST IMPROTANT ISSUE ever in the history of humankind (ever).

The Results Are In: The Stimulus Made There Be ALOT Of Jobs (In The Future)

Which is how without further adieu here's a good blog post were Yggie show's a GRAPH (yes thats right dhingers ever try using graphs?).

Basically, it's a graph of how many jobs the Stimulus made in the future:

So you see, thats the answer to the question Did the Stimulus make jobs. Answer yes- in the future. Case closed. Tahts basically all the argument you need against someone who questions whether the Stimulus made jobs. It totally did (just look at that graph).

Where did Yggie get this he got it from Macroeconomic Advisor's. Thats how you know its solid right there. At first I was like skeptical. But then when I heard it was from Macroneconomic Advisors. Well I mean how can you argue with that. (Are you a Macroeconomic Advisor? Thought not). Furthermore, as Yggie points out, "all private sector forecasters" agree with it. ALL of them. Take the set of all Private Sector Forecasters. (i.e. People with the job title Private Sector Forecaster). ALL of the members of that set agree with the above graph, as far as Yggie can tell. Now thats what I call a impressive number/finding.

But Reputzi's(stupid/Palin) squint there eyes the don't understand the graph. To hard I guess. Ya I suppose if i was form like Alaska or Kansas me too would be it's hard to understand. So let me go over it slowly for the leiperson.

First, what Macroeconomic Advisors did (using study's/analysises/data/formula's) is, they figured out the baseline number of jobs that's going to exist in the future. That's, like, if there wasn't of been a Stimulus. How many jobs would there of been (in the future). So thats a basic starting point. Now this is a hypothetical concept because its counterfactual. So you can to calcalate it. But so that's what they did first, is calculated that number basicelly. Just the baseline.

Second (step 2), once they got hte baseline (which was probalby the easy part) is then they just calculated how many jobs there's really going to be in the future. Like in 2011 and 2012 and 2013 and so on. They got that number (from calculations.). With data.

Then they substracted them together and put it in a graph. That's basically a nutshell how they did it. Meaning that the Stimulus made those extra jobs (in the future). It's right there in the graph. Like if you want to know how many jobs the Stimulus made in 2011? You find 2011 on the x-axis. Then you take you're straightedge and perpendicularly aligned it with 2011 and find were it crosses the graph. Mark that with your felt tip. Then look across to the y-axis. That's how you can figure out how many jobs the Stimulus made in 2011. I get something above 2.4 millions which is a IMPRESSIVE NUMBER INDEED of jobs to have made. In the future.

See dhingers this is waht science is totallaly like. Maybe you should try it sometime guess not oh well have fun with yr tea bag's RFLO.

UPDATE: But its solemnly humbling when you thing about it. Just think. Because of the Stimulus, as we speak there's nearly 2.6 millions peoples who now can fell secure that they will have jobs that they weren't going to have without the Stimulus. (In around 2011-2012). Those people can sleep easy at night and have the Stimulus to thank. Because of teh graph.

In the Bush's shadow

It's something I knew about all along. We all did. And somehow, I filtered it out:
We are standing in Bush's shadow.
A chill crept up the back of my head. I thought about it again today. The dark shadow. And again, the chill. It gives me chills just thinking about it (the chills).

Bush's dark legacy is very much with us. He and Guantanamo and global warming and afghanistan and the economy and Iraq and abu-ghraib with its poor, masturbating inmates.
Clearly, it'll take at least two or three generations (possibly centuries) to fully step away from Bush's long, dark shadow.
It's like having some massive overdraft. Needing to take out a mortgage on everything you own and then paying it back bit by bit, passing the remaining debt to your children, your grand-children and so on. As Mark Steyn (or: Mark "indicted but never convicted" Steyn) points out, we don't have lots of kids anyway. It's not as though a great many will suffer.

Obama inherited a towering 'debt' (economic, moral) and he has to mortgage America (which is his, so to speak, his=our America), paying back the debt with interest, passing it along to our kids, great-grand-children. Not his debt. Bush's.
Thanks to Obama the economy is thriving, the stimulus created 3.5 million jobs (some people still have no job but then again, some have two!) and global warming is apparently already retreating (out of fear, probably, in anticipation) but if you meet some dhinger (for example: Mark Steyn ("it's not islamophobia if they're really out to get you") or his inarticulate and litigatious side-kick, one Ezra "I got away with it so sue me" Le-Vant) who says things (international relations / the economy / whatever) should be better (a tautological form of reasoning), first remind him of Bush's legacy.

Like humpty-dumpty (America), all the King's (Obama's) horses and men might not be able to put it together again exactly the way it used to be. I mean an arm might go where the leg should (and v.v), the cracks will show, etc.

That doesn't mean we should give up and stomp on its head (voting Republican or endorsing pollution-based mutants like Palin). Better a slightly lopsided, teetering Humpty-Dumpty, with one leg looking suspiciously like an arm and a sunken cheek than to have a totally wrecked, scary humpty-dumpty out on a rampage in Arab countries. Better to extend an arm or a leg to Iran in friendship than to bomb it and trash what's left of our reputation.

The Source Of Brillence - Yggie Of Course

You guy's I was rememebering how Government spending makes there be jobs and I was thinking, How did I come up with such a brillent concept of putting it that way. So I looked back through my archives and saw that (of COURSE) it all came from Yggie.

The original idea was Yggie. I can't take credit. I should of known.

Yggie is the one who wroted this post . Thats a good blogging post were Yggie uses Econcomics theory (and Brad Delong who unlike you is a ECONOMICST).

These guyse's point was very simple: if there would be House bill stimulus it would make there be 3.5 million JOBS if there would be Senate bill stimlus it would make there be 3 million JOBS. Yggie even did it as a graph with his techie excel skills(remind me to ask him for some number cunching excel lessons)

Well we did one of those stimuluses (forget) and we have seen how true The Jobs Equation is. How very true. Because those jobs were totally maded. Just think if without that stimulus. Why there'd be at least 3 million less jobs's then there are right now. Just gone. You can tell by looking at the graph. Thats economics. Thats why Brad Delong is such a good econoomist and Yggie is such a good blogger.

God it makes me salivatingly jealous looking back at how right the were all the long.

Humbling

If The Iraq War is like a tootache then The Iraq War being wrong is like how you have to do a something about that toothache. Like go to the dentist(Obama) and than you get numed up so the can give you a root canal. (True story). You can't just sit there with it wrong doing nothing. OUCH. At the very least if you have you're Blackberry along though you can use it to still keep up with work emails while you're wait for the dentist because MAN that dude was always coming in like ten minutes after the appointment SUPPOSABLY suppose to start. Except, taht you can't get reception in there (probably from the x-ray's equipement).

You can totally use that analogue I got alot of them. But the question is whose going to pay for that copay's because at the dentist its alot which that's not right. For the government not to pay for you're porcelain crowns. This bring's us to heathcare. But OH RIGHT I forgot the Reputzi's just say no let's not have heathcare. (Except them). So thats where we are about now. That's why this blog is so improtant.

I noticed there was like 100+ comments on the priory post. That's a raw number but its real. People are noticing and coming back to be part of something. Something like The Iraq War was wrong. This is a part of all of us. And, I'm must say. To have started it all on that fateful day nearly six years ago when I was suppose to be working on my postdoc "researche" or whatever's call. It's always important to listen to the other side, to know their grievances and to realize that essentially, they're just like us. According to my sources, in various websites frequented by so-called Islamists and Al-Qaeda followers, recent chatter indicates Al-Qaeda's number 2 is about to release a scathing critique tentatively titled "The Christmas Bombing Attempt - what did we do wrong?". It appears that the local Yemenite A.Q's leader's statement that "the system worked really very very smoothly" has triggered howls of outrage amongst several so-called Islamists over in Pakistan. He later explained his statement was taken out of context but this did little to smooth things over. Now, A.Q's (global) number 2, is rumored to have said the system spectacularly failed, in ways which will "astonish" so-called militants worldwide, promising a "total review" of "like everything". Asked whether this means heads will roll, he said "well, Kafir heads, Inshalla"

Although the Yemenite leader has since clarified his position, when asked if A.Q's number 2 is correct in saying the system has failed, he evasively replied "one shouldn't read that judgement out of context, that would be vicious. Terrible things occur once things are taken out of context. Yes, in a particular contextual framework, the system will be judged to have "failed", however this is only valid within the narrow conceptual framework within which it was stated." (A.Q's (global) #2 had the same reaction when asked if the Yemenite leader was wrong in saying the system worked so it appears they're in agreement.)

If you're given a choice between establishing peace and between righting an ancient wrong, which would you go for?
It's a tough question. The great philosophers (Yggie et al) have probably written about it and solved this conundrum. Spatchcock claims my "you're talking about the elimination of Israel like it's a bad thing" is counterproductive or just plain wrong.

Let's be clear here, what I said is just hypothetical. I really want to see world peace. The very concept of war is hateful to me, as a progressive. If there's one thing I hate (other than FOX news, people who release co2 gasses into our atmosphere like there's no tomorrow, which there won't be if they go on, fat girls, frat guys, american corporate culture, gosh just don't get me started) it's people who think violence is the answer to anything. And that's why I heartily support the palestinians. It's one of my special pet causes and defining characteristics.

Having said which, there'd be a lot of plusses to israel being wiped of the map by islamic nations. Just saying.
I'm not explicitly saying it's better to right an ancient wrong than to have peace.
I'm peace all the way.
In this case tho', you Can have the cake and eat it. The peace process (on palestinian terms, I know of no others which count) would also lead to israel's being wiped off the map, negotiations (forever and ever amen) with iran will lead to their having the bomb. Promoting peace doesn't mean having to choose between peace and between what is right.

That's for those who prefer righting wrongs over peace.
If you prefer peace, reject the absurd argument that iran will build a bomb or that the palestinians want to demolish israel. You already know that negotiations and capitulations are the only way forward and they actually get results, unlike war, which besides being very wrong, never achieves anything. We know (from movies, mostly) that built into the very fabric of violence is a mysterious, as yet not fully understood process that undermines any possible chance of its achieving anything.
Violence begets violence, whereas negotiations tend to breed further negotiations. Just think of childhood instances of say, bullying you underwent (or handed out). Or of muggings. Was that violence or knife really necessary?

On Arab Land

I wonder what it's like to be on Arab Land. Of course I never could because of how I'm not holy (like Arabs) so it would'nt be right. But hypohetically, I bet it's would be hard for me though (hypothetically) on account, of. You know how like Superman is super strong when he got off Krypton. Well for me that's would be like the opposite.

Arab's are a lot like Superman when you thing about it. I bet for them coming here is a piece of cake too. And like Superman there basicelly the best hope we have. Its curious that we haven't given Arab's as prominent a place as Metropolis give's Superman though however. Probably due to rascism.

I like to imagine Arab Land like from what was in Aladdin only more real. Like ok there's hot desert sands but the cloth's is BEAUTIFUL and flowing. Now there's evel Jaffar but that's was defeated a long time ago I think. Now its basically like sands and spices and tents and giant MC Hammer pants and like that. Howcome everone's so against that. If there was a part of Disneyland about that you KNOW you'd be all into it. Actually why isn't there. Or if there is I don't remember it.

If you think back there was one person who was CONSISTANTLY right on The Iraq War. One person stands out who NEVER WAVERED that The Iraq War would be wrong. And after we did The Iraq War he stuck to his principles and continued to speak out against it. Of course it's clear I'm talking about Saddam Hussein. If we'd of listened to him, there'd be no The Iraq War.

That's a actual tangible accomplishment. If that's not worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize what is?

Jonah And Iraq

I was walking on Madison Avenue and WOA my heart skipped a bout. Why you ask. I thought I saw Jonah Hill. (!)

Than I looked closer and turns out, it was just a guy with curly hair and his head hold kinda of scrunch sideways. But this got me to thinking? Remember those time(s) when I thought I saw Matthew Yglesias? What if it was just a guy with a round face - glasses - brown beard.

You never can know with thing's like that. That's a depressing thought.

This gets back to WMDs. We thoughted we saw some WMDs over there (Iraq). Like east north west south somewhat. But turns out? They weren't WMDs at all they were just like fertilizers.

For me, the effects of my mistake were minimal. Alittle embrassment perhaps from yelling out "JONAH DUDE I LOVE YOU".

But for WMD's the results were cataclysmic. Launched us into the most costly, deadly, horrific, holocaust level disasterous foreign policy disaster in the U.S. history of the United States (ever). Plunging are country into the worst episode of devastation are country has ever seen. Good thing we all could blog about it on are laptop's. Otherwise I shudder to think what would of.

Bush's texas lynch-mob mentality is raging on. A lot of us saw it coming. In alphabetical order. Iraq. Iran. Nothing to do with iran being an arab country, is it now? And nobody asks why Iran shouldn't be entitled to have nuclear weapons same as anyone else can. The psychology behind it is what's interesting. Back in Khomeini's day, we were against them because he looked like the Other (bad teeth, shawl and beard). Mahmoudinajad doesn't sport a beard or a shawl. He has all his teeth. Sort of clean-shaven. A suit with no tie. Very cool and smooth. You can tell he uses some kind of eau de toilette (I wonder if he uses an iranian brand) and he even supports global nuclear disarmament. But hey, he's arab, right? I guess that's all it takes in this day and age.
The mass psychology is interesting. A lynch mob. A gang. Probably too scared to do anything after the infamous fiasco of the iraq war but their threatening (bravado, mainly) stance, the cold, suspicious look in everyone's eyes speak volumes.

How does this mass-psychology actually work (spores?)?
Does the french midget have a napoleon complex?
Is Iran everyone's bitch now???
Besides, sanctions would only harden Iran's proud resolve. In these situations, can't we learn from the past? Has the iraq war taught us nothing?

Update: Ok. Seems there r different types of arabs out there. The ones in iran are called persians, which makes some ppl see them as different from normal arabs. I mean "normal" in the sense of being "typical", not in the sense of being "sane", which of course arabs typically are (sane). Big deal. The arabs in afghanistan are also different sorts of arabs. If anything it looks like Bush idoesn't care what sort you belong to. Afghan, Persian, Iraqi.. they're all the same ARAB thing to him, get it? Nuance was never his 'thing'.

The scary part now is what if Iraq invades US? After all we lost The Iraq War (Iraq totallally beat us). Which you gotta figure means were right for the plucking now (are guard is down and plus from all the treasure we spended). So they totally could if the wanted. Bet Bush didn't thing about THAT did he you.

And the ironic thing is they'd have EVERY RIGHT to actually. We did a wrong war on them. It's not like we didn't do a wrong war on them. (In 2003). So we would'nt even be able to say anything. We'd just be like all um um um please don't? But they do and we had it coming so actually we'd be like Yeah I guess we had that coming.

So I've thought this every which way through and basically Iraq could definately invade us and we wouldn't even have the right to stop them. You almost wonder why they haven't already. But when they do then what? Will we have to do waht they say or whatever (like wear burq'uas). Which is ok I mean (I'm not being anti culturist here I guess I could wear one out of respect). I'm just trying to mentally prepare here.

The whole thing is so wierd to think about. When I figured this out I almost did'nt believe it actually but I can't find a hole in the logic so there it is.

Thinking Out Loud

Okay hear me out because this just barnstorming here. But that's the way strategy is sometime's, you have to think fast because the action is quick. And the passion is hot.

So here it goes. Right now we've of done a good job of redaploying some of are troops over to Afghanistan (the War On Terror Country). But I think we need to strike while the iron's hot and redaploy ALL are troops to Afghanistan.

Phase 2 is the pullout from Afghanistan b/c Afghanistan is a quagmire. (Thank's Bush- another failure tha'ts on your shoulders Bush). Were basically getting nowhere there and going downhill fast. We RELLY need to start doing a pullout AFAP. Actually we could do the pullout at the same time as the redaploy (multitask).

But that's the grim reality: The road to pullout runs through Afghanistan.

Which is the REAL War On Terror place. That we need to focus on and send all are troops to. (And then pullout). I think that would just about cover it.

Afghanistan Out

Longtime TIWWWB reader's know that one of are favorite BEST arguments has always been that The Iraq War distracted us from the REAL War On Terror. (Which was/is in Afghanistan, the War On Terror country.)

So now we've pullouted of Iraq and reput are troops into Afghanistan. Which I TOTALLALY support.

But the thing is (this is tricky, so stay with me here) what gives us the right to even be in Afghanistan? Nothing that's what. It's time to pullout there. (Afghanistan: the cenetary of empire's).

See, it's like this. Now that we've stopped being distracted from the War On Terror (Afghanistan), and starting Focusing on the War On Terror (Afghanistan) like we always should of, it's time to pull out of Afghanistan because of what a quagmire it is.

Afghanistan: simultaneously where we should of had are troops all the along, and where we shouldn't of ever putted troops in the first place.

Dhingers probably don't get this with there black and white thinking though.

Now that we're out of Iraq I wonder could if we could have a National Conversation about how The Iraq War Was wrong. I've been pretty good on the issue these last 5 years but I think but now I think it's time to get it out there more and start to get teh rest of the country talking about it. (About how The Iraq War Was Wrong). You know? Like, The Iraq War Was Wrong is ready to hit the prime time. We've been brewing it for a while (and good job of us I'm must say) but what about everbody else.

Think about all the people who there (rurals/churchgoings/ect) who maybe haven't even HEARD someone say The Iraq War Was Wrong probably. I bet there out there. How can we find them (any ideas?). Like if the have a Amreican flag on there car (That's one way just throwing out there-)

Ok like at work there was this girl called from the London side of the team and wanted me to do all sorts a of stuffs. (Hard to explain- stuffs using Spreads Sheets or whatever there call) Well we got to talking about I said to her (maybe just blurt it out but that'as how I am sometimes) "The Iraq War Was Wrong. Have you considered that"

From the pause in teh conversation (actually she hung up but when I called back she said she thought I hunged up on her which maybe I did accidentally- I hate the phone system here, so confusing) She was enthralled though. Also with the Bretish accent like in those movies. (Austin Power's) WOW

Did you ever were in Hong Kong though and see British's. It's like "HUH?". Like we were at some club and there was finger sandwiches and tea and "biscuits" (which is not like real biscuits from KFC but more likes little cookies) and I was looking around. ALL LIKE BRITISH TYPES no Chinese/Hong Kongs anywhere in sight. You coudln't even guess you were in Hong Kong what's that all the about?

But that's was a long timed ago. Ibet its' changed because, (diversity ect). Also 1997. I want to go there back again. There was this rug shop and the guy would always send out this other guy (little guy) to fetch me a orange juice. In some ways, a fascanating culture. But what about you?

For you youngster's who might not remember. What this blog is about:

In 2003 which was more than six years ago. (Like if your 14 now then this was when you were 8). The U.S. Country did a war on Iraq. That war was wrong.

Taht's what this blog is about. I blog about how that war (that we did in 2003) was wrong. I write blog post's, and say argument strategie's, for proving/arguing discussing that the war that we did (in 2003) on Iraq was wrong.

This is improtant as your teachers hopefully are telling you. More and more in the coming years it's just going to keep getting more and more improtant to talk about how wrong the war that the U.S. did in 2003.

If you have a History text its probably in there. It's probably a Unit. This is if your school district boughted new texts sometime within the past 4-5 years. If not then maybe it's not in there yet. (There might be one on The Gulf War but that was a different war). Anyways so same thing here. This is like a History text but LIVE as it were. Or it's a supplimentary material you could call it.

You could print it out and Xerox it to bring it in for class descussion. Your teacher would probably be all exited

I'm still been trying to figure out why we don't just try peace. ON Iraq. Instead of war on Iraq why not peace on Iraq. It could be like a commercial (Peace: Try It.) I could totally imagine it. It would have someone who's crying (like a little Afghan girl with those green beautiful eyes - but there crying).

Why we don't we even TRY it?

I think I figured out what it is. You know how you almost never eat corn dogs? Like people are all "eew corn dog". And if there's girls around they'll TOTALLALY freak out if you get one like "I just want something light like a salad. Like somehow there's something shaneful about corn dogs (!). But the thing is. Whenever you every HAVE a corn dog your all like "Dude, this is so good. Why don't I eat this more often"? And you scratch your head b/c you can't ever figure it out.

Consider the corn dog. With the almost sweet corn based covering (almost like fried corn muffin) on the outside. And then the dog on the inside. On a stick. It's possibly nature's perfect food IHMO (for me it's between that and marshmallows). What's not to like? There's nothing not to like. While your crunching into it i'ts just mind boggleable why you're not eating this practically all the time.

But? I think I figured it out the reason is: You always forget how good corn dogs can be because you never TRY them. Only like if your at a carnival or maybe a Six Flags-run amusement park. But the rest of the time? Corn dog availability in communities is rather limited. Government hasn't done nearly enough to help increase access to corn dogs. It's a textbook example of a market failure.

So in result nobody eats corn dogs (much) and thus nobody rememebers how awsome the are. Well that's like peace. Nobody tries peace (much) so nobody remembers how awsome it could be if we did.

If we just did some peace on Iraq for a change it's just incredible hwo the results would be I bet. Like biting into that crunchy sweet umami corn dog for hte first time in years. It would be a breathe of fresh air.

Stating The Obvious

On Iran, howcome nobody's mentioned the obvious cause of all the problem's there (and anywhere else with Muslim's): The Iraq War.

I mean ok if your going to complain about stuffs happening in Iran then ok, but let's not forget that the United States invaded Iraq in 2003. INVADED IRAQ.

Surely that's hte main blame for whatever bad thing's you think are happening in Iran, and meanwhile therefore nobody in Iran should be blamed themselves (if indeed you think something bad is there, which is a judgmentalist statement but ok, if you think that).

Iran is a Muslim country. We had no right to invade Iraq. NO RIGHT. Think how much you'd be fit to be tied if you were in Iran (on either side) and the United States invaded Iraq. You too would probably be either a protester yelling stuffs, or a militia guy axing protesters, respectively. (depending)

It's call empathy people. Put yourselfs in a another's shoes. The shoes of someone that we did a Iraq War on, or someone nearby (in The Muslim World) that didn't like that we did a Iraq War. Once you do that you'd see you need to shut up about judging people for anything they do and start apologizing for everything other people do. Because you did The Iraq War. In 2003. Never forget that.

Yggie Profile - Disappointing

I read this normblog profile of Yggie and you know what I thought:

BOOOOOoOO-RING.

First of all it doesn't even MENTION that Yggie's dad is the screenwriter of the movie classic Dark Water with Jennifer Connelly. (a excellently screenwritten film) I get SO TIRED of Yggie not mentioning his screenwriting New York family not nearly enough.

Second of all where does it mention that Yggie went to Ivyleague. Ok there is one mention of Harvard at the top but where is the others? Howcome we don't get to hear more about HOW MUCH Yggie went to a Ivyleague, what his experiences there, who he partied with ect. For crying out loud this is what I live for, and yet even on his own blog, Yggie seems to kind of hide his Ivyleague roots (mentioning it only in about 30-40% of his posts by my count).

On a similar note I don't see any mentions of celebrities Yggie might know or have been acquainted with either at Harvard or while growing up in New York environs. Did he grow up & go to school with anybody from N'Sync? Has he met Chelsea Clinton at a hedge fund party? Did he shake hands with Johnny Depp once on the set of From Hell? We don't know. We just don't know.

There is no mention of rap or hip-hop. When you and I both know that Yggie is a HUGE fan of rap and/or hip-hop, a student of the genre, if you will. By the same token, nor does it mention Indie Rock Music. (there is one mention of the Clash but that's not quite Indie). Yggie is right up there in the forefront of these musical styles. I bet he has even gone to clubs to see Indie Rock shows. So why is he hiding that?

He does mention basketball ONCE. Yggie is suddenly a WAshington Wizards fan. One assumes that this is an h'omage to the fact that he lives in Washington DC like a real mover and shaker. Yggie knows ALOT about basketball. Or "hoops" as he probably calls it. I bet he does good trash talk on the basketball court in pickup games. (I bet he does pickup games). He probably calls the ball "the rock" and everything. I love thinking about this stuffs.

But overall, a disappointment all around. Did Norm edit down Yggie's answers, which were presumably more interesting to start with? Answer in comments,

What Liberals (Like Myself And Yourself) Should Think About Iran

As liberals, we sometimes have a struggle figuring out how to react to the events of the day (Current events). Should be be for something. Should we be against something. What do dhingers think because we want to make sure were the opposite. Which side will make there be higher taxes because that's the liberal side. And so on. It's all very complicated.

So on Iran I thought I'd run down teh basics in a primer for you. So you can know what to think What your suppose to think. As liberals.

1. Iran is a Muslim Country. We like Muslim's. As liberal's, Muslims is pretty much are favorite religion. Because first of all, there a minority. Second of all, it's the largest and fastest-growing religion in the world. Third of all, the don't like dhingers or the U.S., which we respect. As liberals. This feeling Muslims have of disliking America because of how America caused all there problems in particular is something we need to make sure to nurture and coddle and play up. (Because of respect)

2. So we support Iran. That means to say, we support the government of Iran. Which is Ahmadinejad fair and square. We're pretty impressed by how much he represents not only himself but all Iranians everwhere, and indeed, all Muslim's everwhere. We can tell this on account of how much he hates Amreica (and Israel) and America. Anyone who hates America and Israel that much must be a authentic voice of Muslim's. In fact if ther'es a Muslim who doesn't visciously hate Israel/Amreica I get kinda of suspicious. Like, are they CIA tools?

3. Well but now there was a disputed election (recount/protest/ect) wherein, Ahmadinejad (the true ruler of Iran) but there was a another guy (who there was protesting that he really won). Now. As liberals we like democracy and all. But the thing is, this is now become a attack against the GOVERNMENT OF IRAN. Which is Muslim's (Muslim Country). That's not good.

4. Now don't be fooled though . At first I saw only some fires and youths on a TV with the sound down (at my work at the investment bank - I was down on the trading floor and it was tune to CNBC and they were showing it briefly something about Iran, but than it went back to that guy with the blue shirt and sleeves rolled up (Jim Cramar?). And when I saw those fires and youths and rocks, I figured that presumably this was probably something that I, as liberals, ought to be in support of. But that was before I knew all the facts. Fact: this is a protest against the GOVERNMENT OF IRAN. Fact: which is a MUSLIM COUNTRY.

5. And one more final Fact (probably most improtant): dhingers don't like Ahmadinejad. Dhingers are running around saying the election was stolen and I guess the want the other guy in there. So how can we, as liberals, in good consciense, not be on the side of the Iranian people (which is the Iranian government (which is Ahmadinejad) against DHINGERS? I think taht pretty much says it all right there. Once I realized that, it's all I needed to make up my mind who to support in Iran.

Less Safe

I was eating my Greek strained yogurt (with honey) this a.m. when I got so sad I could barely speaken. Because I realized how doing The Iraq War (2003) made us less safe.

Think about that. Just think about how less safe we are (on account of Bush did The Iraq War on Iraq), in 2003. Before, we were more safe (then we are now). But now, we're less safe. It's so obvious and sad (because of how obvious it is) that it makes me sad.

Since we did that The Iraq War, in 2003, there have been other years happening. One of them was 2004. (We were less safe that year due to The Iraq War). Then there was 2005 (also less safe IRRC). And of course 2006 when we were TOTALLY less safe as you recall. And on and on: 2007 (less safe), 2008 (less safe), and almost halfway through 2009 (less safe this year).

It has been my objective experience that all throughout that time (6+ years) we have been less safe due to the fact that we did The Iraq War (in 2003). I know it and you know it. Please, people in your homes and at work just think about how less safe you are, and have been, continually and continuously, all that time, day in day out, due to The Iraq War.

Reason I think it's improtant to bring it up being, it was one of the better arguments against doing The Iraq War in the first place. Remember? "Doing The Iraq War will make us less safe." I distinctly remember saying exactly that and having other people say exactly that phrase to me, and so on and so on, several hundreds of times when trying to make Bush not do The Iraq War.

Well, we were right. Oh, how right we were. Because just look at how less safe we are.

P.S. Also let's remember that The Iraq War created terrorists. Just look at how many terrorists it created! I can't even talk about it its so depressing. GOD we had such great arguments, they totally should of worked.

Let's Repeal

Hey what if we repealed The Iraq War. Just repealed it. Like the did with Prohibition.

Some history: First for some reason that hisotirans are still trying to unravel, there was a Prohibition. This was back before the Constitution, back in Elliott Ness times when nobody had rights so everone went around to ``speak-easies`` because you couldn't get a cold one, not even on Sundays to watch the big game. The government put Elliott Ness on the case, and did he ever. He almost didn't even care if a baby stroller was rolling down the stairs like in Battleship Potemkin, that's how focused he was. So you try to go somewhere for a Bud Light when BAM Elliott Ness kick's down the door- your busted fella! Now you're spending hte night in the slammer.

Either that or you stay at home throw some potatoes in your bathtub and try to make gin (or something like that, which I don't even know how it was suppose to work, I think it was a superstition of some sort, like a rain dance). Either way, it's wasn't a pretty sight as you can imagine. (There was also ``flappers`` which I don't even want to know what those were).

Basically you had a society like: the big cities were run by Machines (a Boss man). Then they cut deals with Al Capone. Al Capone gave beer to everone and smashed people with baseball bats. And if you don't watch your back you get mowed down with a machine gun by Machine Gun Kelly. But if you try to hit Albert Finney he'll just roll under the bed and blam you instead. All the gangsters liked to go to opium dens and maybe there dead maybe not (you can't tell). But they would have a fascinating and at times incomprehensible and anachronistic dream about the future.

Well anyway I'm simplifying/getting off track but that's the basics. At night everyone danced to the musical stylings of Scott Joplin. By day, maybe you do tricks/scams on people with your friend (while Scott Joplin plays in the background). Or you wander around the estate felling frustrated because you're part of the Lost Generation and got shot in a bad part during the Great War. Especially when the news comes over the ticker of you're stocks and you have to jump out the window.

And you know what? That's exactly what he the did. They Repealed it BAM just like that. Suddenly, no more Prohibition anywhere you looked. In fact not much is even known about the time after Prohibition was Repealed until WW2, that's how peaceful/uneventable it was. Basically I think we know about three things, like that some folks decided to up and go from Oklahoma to California and get dust all over themselves in the process for no apparent reason. We also know about a bunch of colorful people who lived in Monterey and/or Salinas, California in and around the fish packing industry. But after that, I'm at a loss frankly. So you see, the Repeal worked. At least I'm pretty sure the ``flappers`` went away

So isn't that exactly what is needed here? Let's Repeal The Iraq War. If we Repealed it. Then there wouldn't be one. (That's how the Repeal process works, which I find fascinating). Just imagine if Documents Of Repeal (or whatever there call) were put on Bush's desk tomorrow. OH man I'd love to be there to see the look on his face.

Web 2.0 And Related

Does anyone know how to make you're websight into Web 2.0 compatible. I was reading a old magazine (Wired) that Phung left in his closet and it was talking about Web 2.0. I think I want to get it. If anyone could do it thank's. I would be converting the whole TWIIIBB into Web 2.0 (not just some page's but not others - the whole thing) so if you got the knowhow for that sort of thing (pro bono) in comment's.

I'm still kind of miffed about the way Phung left BWT. Even his desk he left behind which is big and HEAVY. On the plus side he left his tamarind candy's which I eat sometime's (hurts my teeth). But ther'es also his yucky medicine which I don't even know what is it. Sometimes I think I never really knew Phung.

My latest thing is kombucha tea. Have you guy's tried this? I'm drinking kombucha like all day long nowadays. Tastes YUCK but suppose to be good for you. They never know whats good for you though. Like it use to be that meat was bad for you, but than later it turns out your suppose to just eat only meat all day long (Adkins). Then fat was bad for you but now all I want is fat (fried califower- YUM). If its fried and you get your vegtables at the same time well what could be better is what I say. This is why the Japaneses were RELLY onto something.

The economy WOW. Anyone have any thought's on the economy? I mean it seems RELLY bad. Like I'm seeing approx 50% less iPhone's than I use to. (Of course maybe I just notice it less cuz its no longer new).

Well thats the last straw. I heard on the radio that the President was going to stop the release of detainey (sp?) photos. I had to pull over my car as waves of tears rushed over me. It's been hard for all of us.

No photos. We're not going to get to see those photos. Photos of detaineys being torchured and harrassed and placed into pyramids (that sorta of thing). The photos will just be gone lost down the memory hole. Like tears in rain. (BOY was I looking forward to persuing those photos too).

I bet this is all just a ploy to win the election I bet. With the photos safely under wraps. Bush can just cruise control home to victory now. This just shows the need for more reform of are system.

What I realized is that this is the last straw for me. No I mean it. That's all. I can't take it anymore. I'm out.

I know I've talked and threatened about this before. There has been times I've hemmed and hawwed about it back and forther. I say I'm out. But than I'm not somehow. And we still keep doing The Iraq War. And I do nothing about it. I get complacant. With are hectic day in day out lifes, with iPhone's to play with and comic book movies to see, its easy to lose sight of the big picture.

The big picture, Mr. Bush (yes that's right you can soncider this a open letter to you President Bush), is that I am as of this moment no longer participating in your The Iraq War. Not in any way shape or form. You are going to have to carry on this war without my help from this day forward. I am withdrawing utterly and completely 100% of my support from this war.

What is yggie up to these days? I've been wondering about that for a while, wishing somebody would check and write it down here, as a 'yggie in brief'. Finally, I decided to do it myself. Wow, did I get burned!! Almost every blog entry is way over my head.

The Pointless DC Voucher Debate

There's apparently a pointless and riveting debate going on. It's impossible to really understand but this sentence encapsulates the gist of it: "I would also note that during the voucher era, the number of private schools serving low-income children has actually declined as some private schools have converted themselves into charter schools. The other thing happening in DC, of course, is Mayor Fenty and Schools Chancellor Rhee’s continuing efforts to get the Washington Teacher’s Union to agree to a new collective..." Free Market Health Care

Yggie brilliantly points out that "If you think about free markets’ ability to, say, deliver falling prices for high-definition televisions I think you’ll quickly see that one key element of the process is that our society is very sincerely prepared to say that if you can’t afford an HDTV, you’re going to have to do without one"

And that's a crying shame right there.
Yggie then adds: "This process works really well. But when you replace “has to watch the game at a friend’s house if he wants to see it in HD” with “gets sick and dies” then suddenly the process looks not-so-good.".

Did you know that a firm can open up subsidiaries a and b in 2 countries and generate profits through subsidiary a but pay back high interest loans to subsidiary b, so that it looks like sub. a didn't generate the profit it did whereas sub. b (which has very low taxes or maybe none?) did? As yggie eloquently explains: "...These are the kind of issues where, if it’s hashed out behind closed doors, the bad guys are destined to win. But if the fight turns public, the good guys will win".

Our Moment of Socialism

We are now enjoying our moment of socialism and "we’re talking about enough “big government” to put us in the middle of the European pack.". Most of it will vanish soon enough but hopefully not all of it will "go “poof.”".

Lots of excellent blog entries follow but I'm running out of time here, so skipping ahead: How Much Space Do You Need to Plot?

Yggie realizes that we don't need to worry about having islamists control large territories or countries. As he points out, "You need a lot of territory to raise cattle or build a parking lot. But plotting doesn’t strike me as a particularly space-intensive activity." and "When the ThinkProgress team gets together to plot, we usually do it in a small confined space".

In fact, when you think about it this way, having a big territory under your control is actually a problem. How would the ThinkProgress team plot if they were scattered over a large territory? It's probably better to have groups like the taliban control large areas so that, being scattered, they'll find it hard to get together and plot and train terrorists. It's as if people got confused between "a plot" as in "a plot of land" and "a plot" as in "plotting a terrorist attack".
In any case, as Yggie notices: "A terrorist in the Swat Valley is, by definition, not in a position to blow something up in a western city."

This is so blindingly obvious that I'm surprised nobody ever pointed it out before!! It's something we should mention again and again, crediting Yggie for the insight.

How You Know How Sincere We Are

You know howcome you can tell we're so sincere in are antiwar views. Is because we're so consistent about how fervant they are over time. Like in 2005 and 2009 equally we're protesting the The Iraq War. We're out there protesting having troops in Iraq (=The Iraq War) right now every bit as much as we did in some certain other years like 2004 and 2006 and 2008.

Some people would probably not be like that, if they weren't as sincere as we are. Like let's say there were people whose entire stance on The Iraq War traced solely to political opportunism (which ours doesn't) - like that all they cared about was winning a election and using antiwar agitation to stir up resentment against the incumbent party unless/until they could win that election (which is not a description that we merit). Then they'd probably be like whining about the war only when the President was a Reputzi but, once the President switched they'd suddenly become miraculously silent as if their supposed angst about the war is suddenly sated and nothing is really wrong anymore.

But not us. Aren't you glad we're not like that? Like, if Obama get's in there I'm TOTALLY going to protest The IRaq War the exact same amount I do now. I'll still blog about how the war (The Iraq War) was wrong and everything. That's a dramatic demonstration right there of how sincere and non-phony I am.

And the same will be true of all the other antiwar people - if Obama gets in there and they complain about The Iraq War every bit as much as they were with Bush that's how you'll KNOW how sincere they are and how little their anti Iraq War stance was based solely on crass political opportunism. So, you'll see.

I'm not encouraging anyone to do the following but if some readers of this blog (like jason, aunti-dhinger etc.) would decide (of their own free will) to sabotage/bomb power plants then I wouldn't actually shed any tears. You can find out how to build bombs on any number of internet sites. If you wish to take active action to safeguard our environment and stop the exponential increase in global temperatures but you - for various reasons - balk at actually bombing electricity grids and power plants, try pouring some sugar into the gas tank of your neighbor's car. If everyone who reads this blog will try doing that (against my wishes) then maybe we can make some real headway and not have to look down at our smoldering shoes when one day our sweaty great grandchildren ask us what we did back in 2009 to hold back global warming.

Let's face it. Turning off the lights for an hour once a year just isn't going to make global warming go away. Get real = get radical.

The Kinda Of Thing We Could Be Doing

One thing that's been keeping me up at night is, do people in improverished countries know that The Iraq War Was Wrong? I mean do the RELLY know it?

If you think about places of the South of the World. Like Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Moldova, New Zealand. How much time do you think they spend focusing on the wrongness of The Iraq War? Not much I bet. Whose fault is that? Ours.

Access to information about The Iraq War and how wrong it was promises to be the civil-rights issue of the coming decade. In some places/villages one wonders if the subject ever comes up. Whether because of illiterasy or poverty this is a issue that sorely needs to be redressed.

If Obama get's in there he should make this priority #1. I'm envisioning something like a Peace Corp's (public private/public partnership) where young people could fufill there compulsory national service requirements by going to, let's just use Rwanda as the test case, and teaching/spreading hte word about how The Iraq War was wrong. (As a bonus, this would work as Stimulus because it would undoubtedly involve the government spending money on something).

Friends, the people of the world are STARVING out for information/instruction on The Iraq War and how wrong it was. Some of them are probably told/instructed that The Iraq War was wrong as seldom as 20-25 times per month. (That's MONTH, people). In less idealistic administrations of hte past this deprivation would probably be ignored. But we can ill afford to ignore it (ignore at are peril) any longer. The more we ignore it the more we're ignoring it in fact. In the modern 21st Censtury of technological advancement, next generations warfare and a globalized interconnect world, can we afford to let there be people out there who haven't heard the word on this (that The Iraq War was wrong)? Folks this is just a no brainer.

Let me just paint you a picture. Imagine a 14 year old villager youth near some farm in Zimbabwe. He hasn't eaten in three days. And when he does he subsists on peanut paste. When all of the sudden comes to town a guy with a backpack who looks kinda like the guy from Coldplay, or maybe Jason Schwartzmann (when he's in the band, not from Rushmore), or perhaps even Yggie. In fact let's just go ahead and imagine it being Yggie himself. In that backpack he's got some literature about how The Iraq War was wrong. He's got a iPhone and a MacBook and a blog about how The Iraq War was wrong. He's got a nice supply of Schlarfen Berger chocolate, cool Crocs, and a year's worth of Moleskine's. He Twitters everything he does back home while the rest of us follow along.

But at this moment he says to that confused villager, "Hey, 'tsup. Did you know The Iraq War was wrong."

Suddenly things are not so bleak. Taht's a kind of world I want to see.

Protest Morans

I'm going to do a protest today and tomorrow this weekend. (Wish me luck)! It's going to be a protest against The Iraq War. I'm going to protest how The Iraq War Was Wrong.

I made a sign. It sign says "STOP THIS EVIL WAR BUSH". I need a good picture on the sign to and I was thinking maybe to print out a picture of Mumia. But if you have a other ideas, in comments.

I really think I we need to get more on this sort of thing. The Iraq War was still wrong yet where's the people protesting? I don't get it. Well I've had enough of the not protesting. Every time I see people not protesting The Iraq War I get RELLY irritated.

You know what I want to say to those people?

"You protested The Iraq War in 2005 when it was wrong (in 2003). A wrong war happened in the past of 2005 and you found time to protest it in 2005. And same for 2006. But now? When that wrong war is was STILL in are past? And yet you don't protest it by pointing out that it was wrong like you were doing before? What's a wrong with you?"

That's what I want to say. To those people.

FACT: Given that the protests made sense in 2005 and 2006 etc, there is NO logical reason not to be protesting RIGHT NOW. Or in 2010 or 2020 or 2263. NONE. You have NO excuse people. This year and all of those future years will STILL have a wrong Iraq War in there past (every bit as much like 2005 did). So what's your excuse for protesting in 2005 but not 2009. Huh. What. Yeah. Thought not.

Logic. Try it out people. And GET OUT THERE. Because The Iraq War is a thing that happened in are past, which was wrong. THAT"S WHAT PROTESTING IS FOR you morans.

Thinking About The Bagdad Museum

One thing there should be more obsess talking about is how the Museum was looted. Bush just let it be looted. Like he could of stopped it but was like "nah let's not and say we did". You can just see him saying that on account of how he is.

Howcome ther'es not alot of people talking about this daily. See this is what's wrong with are country. People are not involved like the should be. In a healthy country people would be talking about the Baghdad Museum pretty much all the time. Like about all the precious priceless treasures taht was in tehre I bet. And how Bush was like "gee people's looting the Museum well that's great" like that. Like laughing and laughing like when someone give's you a wedgie. To him that's all it was. A wedgie on the Iraqi's peoples.

And by extention all of us. Because just imagine what was in that Museum. Well I don't know but I bet it was alot of unreplaceable stuffs like the Rosetta Stone and King Tut probably. Because it's from Bagdad (the cradle of civilization) so I'm pretty sure there was some amazing stuffs in there. Does anyone know where it is like on Google Maps cuz I'd like to take a closer look at there.

Reason being I bring this up today being that I brought it up to a guy at lunch and he looked at me like all "whatever". See this is what I HATE. People just want to move farther in the line to get there quesadilla they don't even want to hear if someone behind them wants to dwell on the Bagdad Museum with them. It's like oh ok I see I guess your to busy with your oh so improtant lives doing whatever you do (I didn't recognize this guy before so not sure what floor he work's on).

And that's why museums get LOOTED when Bush let's them. Because we don't even talk about it. I can't overemphasize how improtant this is. This is was one of the best arguments for how The Iraq War Was Wrong for crying out loud and we've totally dropped the subject? What is wrong with us people. We got to keep this in the forefront of peoples' minds because somehow, the Bagdad Museum is was symbolic of like everything basicelly. There's practically nothing it's not symbolic of actuelly when you thing about it.

How My Day Was You Ask

Ok well you insist. Here's a what happen today. I was thinking (in my head). And the words of thinking (not actual voice but more like my own voice) in my head was: The Iraq War was wrong. That's what I was thinking about. This was like 8:45 a.m.

Well then for the most of rest of the day I did some other stuffs.

I'm trying to come up with some "Bush is so dumb that" sort of jokes.
Heard a rumor he did something incredibly stupid (even by his standards) recently. With some visiting prime minister. Stood him up for dinner or something because he's too busy on account of the economy he collapsed + the troops being mired in iraq, which is in an intractable state of war and perpetually on the brink of Civil war (as if uncivil war isn't enough). Trying to find more info on this. (I think it was the prime-minister of Guatemala. If anyone knows any details or has links, plz post).

At this rate, it wouldn't surprise me if Bush would go one better next time. I don't wanna sound like some second rate comedian so would it be over the top if I'll say: "He's like so dumb and he's such a chimp that he'd give a visiting dignitary a box-set of dvd's haha (and not of obscure stuff.. just general Greatest Classics hehe)"?

He's got advisers who'd talk him out of it but that's the sort of cowboy he is or would-be if left to his own devices.
I wish we had a civilized President. The kind of President that'd make other nations sit up and say "wow, america isn't a cowboy country anymore". That'll be the day. Well, sometimes soon. Dhingers, we're going to take this country back!!!

Keynsey's Millions

What if the government would make a new department just to do the STimulus. It could be the Department of Stimulus or Office of Keynseyian Affairs or like that. Basically what it would do would is to figure out how to spend the Stimulus money the best.

Because as most Economist's know, one of the first problems you incounter with Stimulus is you can't ever spend the money fast enough. Turns out its RELLY hard. However fast your spending it, it's not enough. Sometimes this just because of dhingers getting in your face not letting you do the Keynseyianism as much as the should. But maybe it's deeper and ther'es a real problem here.

That's where the OKA (Office of Keysneyian AFfairs) comes in. At OKA there job is to spend government money and ONLY to spend government money. (On stuff). That type of efficient and deep FOCUS like a laser on spending money as most and as fast as possible (without all the destractions/red tape/rules/budgetary constraints that other governments stuffs has) is what I think's going to do the best Keynseyianism.

I thing I could be a RELLY good OKA Associate. Because, not to brag but there was this one time when I was a kid and I was at my great aunt's house in Iowa and they had cable. Ok, so they had cable and I use to be in the basement and watch Cable any time I wanted because the grownups were talking and it was just snow outside anyways. And there was HBO so I use to watch HBO about like 10 hours a day that whole vacation. Some of the movies was not that great (Looker with Albert Finney? I didn't get it). But one of them which was AWSOME was this one with Richard Pryor where he's suppose to spend ALOT of money really really fast.

I must of watched that movie like 4 times and every time I watched it (not to boast, just saying) I was TOTALLY thinking of better ways to spend that money then Richard Pryor.

That's the whole thing of it. It's would really be a selfless position of civil Service for my country to me. Basically I would be there in my office and people would come to me and I'd offer them some of my continental breakfast and than they'd say "Please spend money on me" or "Please make a Job that I could be in that Job getting a paycheck because its a Job" and in each case (case by case basis) I would either decide Yes or No. And the ones I said Yes, would LOVE me. I'd probably even do this job overtime if I could (like only time and a half pay, not double- ). Like you're leaving the OKA office at 5 but you'd still see me in my office there even past 5:30 and just marvel and shake your head at my dedication. taht's how much I believe in this.

The beauty part is this is a double-edged sword (two birds one stone) on account of not only would the OKA be doing Keynseyian Stimulus (which automatically creates Jobs by itself) but it would also BE jobs (itself) due to the people working in the Jobs there at OKA (which would need ALOT of people to work in Jobs there- like to clean my office, arrange my travel, do my IT, ect). Argh this hard to explain I hope you're seeing it, because it's such a beautiful solution. Anwyays anyone has any Congress contacts pass it on because this plan , if implemented. Boy that would be awsome.

I wrote it up for Economist's to sign (or, really I signed it for them because I figure there probly busy. Basically it's just spells out what is settled economic science (about how, Government spending makes there be Jobs, as we've been discussing). One, we can finally to restore some fiscel sanity back to the White House. Can you believe how prolfigate (sp?) Bush has been all this time. MEGA prolfigate. We've totally complained about that ALOT for 8 years (because of how much we sincerely care about that), but to no prevail.

And also, if Obama gets in there he'll be able to make Jobs by Spending. (Spending makes there be Jobs. Sorry dhingers, just does.) Sorry about how the graphs below were approximate (forgot about y intercept/marginal v absolute). But still compelling.

Jobs Equation Part 2 (Illustrating/Graphics Heavy)

I was worried about the previous post. Because I'm not sure all the readership's got it. About the Jobs Equation. Keynsey's result, confirmed by Yggie, that the Number Of Jobs That Exist is a straightforward, increasing function of How Much Money The Government Spends (On Stuff), is quite powerful and dramatic. But I fear that this can get lost in some of the discussions.

I decided to illustrate by using Yggie's graph but expanding on it. I started by reproducing his original bar graph (click on graphs for better view) as best I could:

See, maybe the problem is you were looking at that and thoughted "what's a big deal"? On account of the bars are pretty close to each other in heigthth. He's only talking about the difference arising from a extra billion dollars of spending after all which is like nothing. So I decided to run a new scenario, wherein what if the House Bill was bigger then the House Bill was by a another billion:

Maybe now you see where I'm going. Because look at that? If we spended more then we already didn't spend (the House Bill), by spending more than it there would of been even more jobs than there's not going to be already from not doing the House Bill. We could of made six million jobs that way which would almost solve the unemployment problem right there.

But is that enough? Because what if we just upsized that by half again:

Now look at that. That's a quite a increase. Merely by spending 50% more then in the previous scenario, that would make 3 million more jobs than it already maded. I was amaze by this result because this is the point were I started to realized waht a genious Keynsey was.

But let's zoom out from here and examine the Jobs equation what would happen if we RELLY started to get serious about Stimulus:

Now were getting somewhere. And does this continue you ask? Why yes it does because I plugged in five trillion dollars and there you have it:

So what is the dhingers's problem anyways? Do the just not want people to have Jobs because that must be it. Meanwhile back in the reality-based community, after we solve this current crisis using Keynseyianism, I decided to run one last scenario, "thing outside the box" if you will. I know this may be alittle optimstic for Obama's first term (just alittle), especially until we get Franken in there, but probably this is a good target to set for the second term (note I had to put Jobs on log-scale because THAT"S TELLS YOU HOW MANY JOBS IT WOULD MAKE):

Wow. Just wow. Just look at how many Jobs there would be made. And all we have to do is have the guts to use Keynseyianism and do the right amount of Government Spending (On Stuff).

Maybe the problem is education. Yggie wented to Yale and that's how he gotted his economic expertise. But the lay person maybe has a hard time understanding the above graphs so much. Sighe.

The Jobs Equation

One of the thing's I like to do is to archive Yggie posts on my hard drive (currently my C:\Yggie\ says 3,264 MB) and go back over them for later study. I was re-reading the one's from a couple months ago and I think they above all else help to illustrate the Keynseyan Theory that the more money the government spends the more jobs there's gonna be.

Here's a post what I'm am talking about. It has this graph:

Look at that graph. It's a good graph. It's call a Bar graph. That's were the Bars show how much of something using there heigth.

Yggie put "Jobs" at the top of the graph. Thats how you know the graph shows how many Jobs there will be. (Yggie figured this out or maybe Paul Krugman. It's pretty easy to figure out how many Jobs there will be in the future if your a economist). What I like about this graph is how its so straightforward and simple. Its so simple even a junior highschooler can understand. I read this graph and thought about it overnite and I got some facts from it (which is what the best graphs can do).

1. There was a Senate Bill and it was going to spend (from Yggie's post) $800 billion government money. This would (scientifically/Keynes proved) make there be 3 million Jobs.

2. There was a House Bill and it was going to spend $900 billion government money. This would (same analysis) make there be approximately (hard to tell from bar heighth) 3.6 million Jobs.

3. There was dhinger option = Do Nothing, which (because it would not spended any government money) would make there be 0 Jobs.

Clearly something profound is being demonstrated here which is the economically sound principle that the more money are government spends, the more Jobs there's gonna be, and the less moeny are government spends, the less Jobs there's gonna be, and to sum it up, the number of Jobs strictly and completely depends on how much money the government spends. PERIOD.

In fact we can work this out mathematically. Basically it's apperent from Yggie's profound, deep economical modelling that we get about 600,000 Jobs for each 100 billion dollars of money the government spends (on stuff - smart energy, ect.). Period. Which is simply boils down to about $167k govenrment dollars per Job in other words.

Let's carry this forward because as far as I can tell this sound, scientific principle has no qualification or limits of any kind. So basically like Yggie says if the government had spended 900 billion dollars it would have created 3.6 million Jobs. Great. But what if you wanted 4.2 million Jobs? Simple: spend another 100 billion government dollars, or 1,000 billion (which is call a trillion) total.

Why not continue? Spend 2 trillion -> 8.4 million Jobs. Spend 3 trillion -> 16.8 million Jobs. Spend 30 trillion -> 168 million Jobs. And so on, and so on, ever and ever.

The approximate (but true!) formula is just:

Jobs = Government Dollars Spended / ($1.67 x 10^5)

That's how are economy works. That's Keynseyianism in a nutshell. You might not get it because your not a Economist like Krugman or your not from Ivyleague like Yggie. But it really is that simple and that really is how it works dhingers.

I had a idea for Obama (not sure if his staffers reading but just in case). This may sound to bold and progressive but let's just make there be ALL JOBS for EVERY PEOPLE. I went on the Google and found out that there's 12.5 million people unemployed right now. Dhingers hem and haw about there stupid old tire dogmas but the answer here is clear, the government just needs to spend approximately $2.0875 trillion dollars and ALL those unemployed people would have Jobs.

ALL OF THEM. Think about that. Dare we?

And dare we think outside the box because maybe we could create EVEN MORE Jobs than that? (For immigrants and the oppress of the world, NGOs, student backpackers, ect). This is just ballpark figure here but how about we round it up to have are government spend like $100 trillion dollars just in case so that we make SURE that EVERONE has a Job not just Amreicans which afetr all would be rather US-centric. (Note: I'll leave the number of Jobs this would instantaneously create as a exercise)

#Jobs = linear, increasing function of government spending. Read it and weep dhingers because this isn't even me talking it's Yggie, Krugman, and Keynsey:

Spend government money. Make more Jobs. MATHEMATICALLY. END OF STORY.

Cost and Spending And People Who Are Worth Listening To About It

You know, one of the argument's against The Iraq War I'm am still proudest for laying out there is how much it cost. That's where you say The Iraq War was wrong on account of costing so much money (which is called treasure). Because progressive's (like us) HATE to spend goverment moneys. That's like the #1 mostest thing we hate basicelly. Which is precisely why the cost of The Iraq War was such a sincere argument. And I also recall the pure lack of irony in how we lambasted Bush for being so fiscelly reckless. (Can I just say I HATE FISCELLY RECKLESS. Thanks). Like we had a whole bunch of blog arguments about how the Cost of The Iraq War was on or off the budget (or whatever it was) and THAT MADE US SO SINCERELY MAD in a truly non-disingenuous manner because of how much goverment moneys (treasure) we just HATE to spend.

Yeah. So that's was a awesome form of argument to totally take serously.

Anyways, back to on a another note, you guys have any idea's for this financial Crisis? Me, I think my #1 idea is that the government should do a Stimulus. That's where you have the government spend like ALOT of money AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE on stuffs. This way you create or save all the jobs that exist. (Sorry dhingers if this concept to hard for you to understand, it's a little thing call Keynseyian Theory, so yeah. Try to read up).

Keynsey of course was best known for how he figured out that 10% of us all are gay, by doing expirements. But he also got into econcomics alittle apperently. And what he said was basicelly that the more government money that get's spended the more jobs that there's are gonna be. Period.

Like, imagine if the government spends 123,456,789 dollars. Then you can understand there's gonna be some Jobs. Like you could make 1234 Jobs which each pay approx $100,000 each. But actually that's not good enough for government work (Public Service) probably, like if your a guy like Yggie or Geitner who's a Public Thinker (Yale/etc)you probably need to have the government make you a Job that pays you like 300,000 at least for doing the Thinking for hte rest of us and also so you can have a a nice house in Virginia area, and benefits nad penshion ect. So okay maybe that's more like 400 jobs or let's round it down to 200. In other words there's some number of Jobs that the government would make if it spended X dollars.

But what if the government suddenly spended 2 times X dollars? Thats right - twice as many Jobs there would be. Or some Multiplier of Jobs anyways.

That's Keynseyian Theory in a nutshell (para phrase). Ther'es a Multiplier which let's say (just hypothetical) the Multiplier is 2, then that if you spend a dollar (from government), that can help make a Job for someone (studying hte Ozone Layer or whatever- doesn't relly matter), then that person can spend two dollars at a place like Starbucks, and so that Starbucks will spend a extra four dollars on remodellings and putting in wireless, that will make eight jobs for Construction workers, those Construction workers will buy 16 Ipods for there kids, those kids will make 32 friendship bracelets for each other at BJ parties, and so on and so on until by the time the money get's back to you you have like $65536 more dollars at the end of the year. And just imagine if the Multiplier is 3? Or 4? Well these are approximate numbers but hopefully the concept is illustrated sufficiently. Perhaps it would help if I had a chalkboard and I would draw it out for you (hard to explain/picture but try to imanige: the diagram would have the shape of a triangle, almost like a Pyramid - well I guess your just going to have to invision it).

Which is (Keynseyian Theory is) like hte most scientific thing i every heard of. When I first read about it on Yggie I was like WHOA THATS SCIENTISTIC. I know if your steeped in rightwing dogma you might thing it's sound fishy but it's not its SCIENCE so just shut up. Keynsey totally proved it with his Theory which is totallaly rigorous and scientifics. Like if you ask me in terms of mathematical rigor and scientific basis, the Keynseyian Theory that proves the Multiplier and all that, its right up there with like quantum mechanics and the Bolzano-Weierstrauss Theorem.

But what's more: the people like Yggie (and me) who put forth arguments in there blogs for the Keynseyian Theory, and the Multiplier, and how just in general the Number Of Jobs is a purely increasing function of How Much Money The Government Spends On Stuff, never cease to fail to impress me with how much the TOTALLY know what there talking about.

Most days I think about it may a little bit (20%). More on weekends. But this day. This day wow! I was TOTALLY thinking about it FULL ON.

That's when I decided to blog on it. Which is why is what I'm doing right now in fact. MAN it's great to have this blog for doing that. That's a good thing I started it in 2004. So I could blog about how The Iraq War was wrong. Because it totally was.

Well guys it's been over a year since the last TIWWWB meetup in Moab, Utah and it's no surprise that people have been clamoring to me to get a another together for '09. This is a argument that actually goes back a long ways to when the other guy (Senator guy) who was should of been President instead of Bush. Basically to recapitulate. With Bush in there, are allies won't fight are wrong wars for us. (And that's bad. A huge imperative for progressives in the US should always be to get other countries to put soldiers doing wrong wars that were doing so that it's not are soldiers doing it but instead it's Europeans doing wrong. Bush the Swiper

Anyone who knows there Dora the Explorer (I want to get a box set but for now I just DVR it) knows about Swiper. Swiper is the SNEAKY fox who trie's to steal the thing what that Dora is getting. If you see Swiper you got to say "SWIPER NO SWIPING" and than he goes "Oh, man!" and has to go away.

Unfortunatley as nice as that sounds, taht's not the reality. The reality is Swiper (which is Bush) just totally swipes whatever he wants and you try to say no swiping but he doesn't go oh man. He just goes "war on terror" or whatever and KEEPS doing it.

In econcomics there's a thing call a Crisis happening right about now. If 2003 was The Iraq War then 2008-2009 is the Crisis. In the Crisis, all the rich people swiped are money with Bush's help. Not sure how because that's because that's how sneaky Bush the Swiper is. He did the The Iraq War to swipe are money and whatddya know, now there's a the Crisis.

Let's Get Bush OUT

I was thinking of talking to one of my co workers about how we need to impeach Bush and gET HIM OUTTA OF THERE. Because Bush did The Iraq War on Iraq (which was wrong). In 2003. Which was when The Iraq War was.

Boy I'm fired up just thinking about it. How a war that we did on Iraq in 2003 was wrong. Why isn't anyone talking about this anymore. People are so out of touch.

Today turned out not to be a good day for a myriad of reasons not to get into. (For one thing- bad numbers today). So I'm probably going to bring it up tomorrow. I usuelly see him in the cafeteria which maybe that's a good time. Tomorrow should be fried califlower day so that's a double benefit right there.

The other thing I like at lunch's lately is soups. Did you know you can get some pretty good soups if you go out though. There's places that are like cool restaurants but the only have soup. I was amaze when I first saw it. I digress slightly.

On the other front waht about trying to get Obama in there again. Not sure what happened there but seem's like we relly had some good momentum going. We can't let that dream die because ONE day I would like my children's children to have a Obama in there. Let's freedom hope.

Howcome kids like animals? Did you every notice that. Kids LOVE animals. Everone knwos that . But why. If you think about it kid's probably should be the most scaredest of animals of all. Because there smaller relative to animals then adul'ts are. Like a kid will relly like a pony. A pony might be same height as adult or slightly smaller. But ALOT BIGGER then a kid. So why does the kid like it more then the adult (which can pet it easily unaided by a ladder or other device). Does not make sense hestorically (evolution). Is this evidence of evolution is wrong because I hope not.

I was thinking of the Ocean's movies(my favorite: #12) and if they make a another one I hope they call it Ocean's 14. Just it would seem to make sense that way.

Do you love the latest Malcolm Gladwell book as much as I do. Because I totally do. I haven't read it yet but it's got a GREAT cover (how does he come up with those covers- BRILLIANT) and anyways I just totally love the whole Malcolm Gladwell vibe don't you. Like: Barnes & and Noble, grab the Gladwell, go to the Starbuck's inside the Barnes and Noble, sit there, read Gladwell, drink you're chai latte and eat you're pumpking cake and listen to the Ani Difranco or Pink or that druggy British one that there playing on the stereo. THAT'S the lifestyle I'm talking about, that were losing under Bush slowly but surely.

Black Swan Bubbles

One of the most evil thing's Bush is done (besides The Iraq War) was the Housing Bubble. In teh Housing Bubble, Bush gave alot of people big houses. Well there you go. BUBBLE. Bam. People please this isn't rocket sciensce.

Clearly Bush shouldn't of let so many people get houses. Of course thats only my opinion but if you don't believe me try a little someone I like to call PAUL KRUGMAN.

I don't know why some of these type people was even getting houses in the first place. Thats not a good ecanomy. In my other house the people next door? I mean please. The guy was a totallay fat cholo (sp?) who seem to did'nt even have a job and the got in fights all the time with his white g/f (wife?). Who wants that in a neighborhood with you (I mean in a house type neighborhood with regular people and the Asian programmer types). The should be off in Affordable government housing Program of some kind where there can be all sorts of Programs for them to be in. And the one who you feel sorry for most for- is the kids. Every time I saw these people I jsut wanted to cry and say get them out of there the sooner the better. But they was still there when I sold for only like 5% profit (gee thank's Bush).

The bottom line is then we got a Black Swan. Thank's Bush for that Black Swan. Black Swan is a theory by Nassim Taleb thats a GREAT genious risk maganement theory about how you can't predict stuffs and maths doesn't work so don't even try anything or make calculations of any kind because whats hte point (I paraphase). Like, what if you were walking down the street and you saw a Black Swan? Who could of predicted that? Totally not me. And using math? Forget about . Well I know it's soudns pretty complacate but Taleb proved it (with his book). I have'nt read it yet but I like the cover and anyways just from when I first heard the phrase Black Swan I knew Taleb was onto something so I don't even fell like I have to read it because i think I get it basecally.

Now, turns out if you make a hedge fund based on Black Swan Theory (prediction is impossible, don't do any maths ect) you'll totally do awesome. I hear Taleb did this AT LEAST TWICE. First there was one hedge fund using Black Swan Theory (and then when he had to close it up he made now there's a another one. WOW. That's a track record right there. That guy's closed up more hedge funds then most of YOU every will in a lifetime and plus he's on TV and your not so don't even talk.

Now hopefully if Obama ever gets in there this will all be mute point because we can get all those people back into housing project type places wehre the belong. But in the meantime just remember to implement Black Swan theory. I've been basing my life on it for at least the past nine days and its totally changed everything. For example the batter on my cellphone went dead and I forgot to charge it last nite so I didn't have my cellphone at owrk today. Did I predict this? Nope.

Soup Lines

I was just thinking. How do Muslim's fell on Christmastime. Pretty bad I bet. This is why when someone says were a inclusive/tolerance country I want to scream and pound on them with my fists.

No were not. Not even close. Weve come along ways since the times of Salem or whatever (when lesbian couples couldn't do their witchy stuffs/spells without persecution) but still got SO ways to go.

Before you accuse me not talk the talk I should point out live near a mos'que east north west south somewhat and every time I walk passed by it I just want to rush in there and start crying on them. (There's also a good gyro's cart on the sidewalk outside which is convenient. Add the grocery store around the corner which still carries Canada Dry Green Tea Ginger Ale and I'm set right there).

Another my thing lately is soups. Not regular soups but GOOD soups like seafood biqsue from the place with huge lines (forget what's call). You pay your $4 and have that medium soup in you're hand boy that's a good felling after waiting all that time. But its pretty scarey that under Bush this is what it's comes to (soup lines).

You know what's amazing. Every since approx. early November it hasn't felted that urgent to me to talk about The Iraq War was wrong and how wrong The Iraq War was and to harp on the overweening wrongness of doing The Iraq War on Iraq in 2003 like we did and which purportedly bothered me so personally all this time.

I can't put a finger on it. It's seem like somes sort of pattern but just beyond my grasp. All's I know is first we did The Iraq War (in 2003). As soon as we did it, talking about how wrong it was that we did it suddenly became of paramount improtance in my life and the live of others (progressive's). This lasted until sometime in late 2004 (approx. November/early IRRC) at which point on a certain day as you recall I suddenly and inexcpliaby lost interest in the whole endeavor of dwelling on the wrongness of what a thing are country did in 2003 (on Iraq).

But than eventually it started to become improtant again as if a rising crecendo to the point where throughout 2005, 2006, 2007 and much of 2008 the imperative to explain/prove/say that the 2003 The Iraq War (2003) was wrong became of the focel point of my life to the exclusion of all else (even the Lohanim began to suffer, and I can't help but think that Lindsay's subseqent problems are partially to stem).

That much we know. Here's what else we know however or at least I know, at some point in early November of this year I suddenly felt happy and contented and berating/monologing others about how The Iraq War was wrong no longer seemed very improtant/useful or instrumentative/convenent. But WHY? This is what I don't understand. How could something that was outwardly/surface like the hugest deal of my life and something that I supraficially purporting to be a hugely improtant philosophical issue to resolve and than suddenly (in early November of 2008) other stuffs become far more improtant seeming to me (like healthcare).

I can't think of a any explanations for this phemomenon of the passed six years (since 2003) starting with The Iraq War can you.

It probably has something to do with how The Iraq War was wrong (because is was). Maybe doing a wrong war makes stuffs like that to happen. Hard to say, maybe if there's ever a Reputzi President again who does a war (i.e. a wrong war) we'd find out but lets hope it's never come to that.

patrick swayze - has he sold out?

The answer hinges on one question: were pamela andersen's silicone tits tongue in cheek?
From start to finish swayze's character is strewn with riddles such as this. To further complicate things, much of his work is obscured due to his changing his stage name and appearing incognito.
Consider his debut, in the band A-ha (The youtube video of 'take on me' leaves no room for doubt. It's definitely him). The familiar Swayze face calls (much as it would do later on in 'Ghost') to our sense of chivalry and sympathy. Already here, his gift as an actor shines through.
Another repeated theme, is his being not only a rescuer but of living in an alternate universe that intersects with our own. In many ways, Swayze, one of the most enigmatic figures, is consistent.
But leap to his (much later) starring as (I forget the name) in Baywatch.
Hhe's a rescuer here too but whereas 'the sun always shines on tv' shows the banality of model-like figures (those mannequins) and reminds us that commercial television is selling us a lie, in Baywatch, he's part of the very same the-sun-shines-on-tv and eschews blonde women with pretty eyes and faces in favor of silicone injected Hollywood-contrived lies, not so distant from those mocked at and presented as mannequins in his A-ha song. Here is where we have to wonder about Pamela Andersen.

Skip to Ghost, where Swayze uncharacteristically hooks up with a brunette (but without obvious implants), continues playing the role of suffering rescuer inhabiting another dimension tho' he has (as in Baywatch) shed his political anti-nazi stance (in 'take on me' the baddies seem very much like ss/gestapo troops). His rendition of "I'm henry the 8th I am" is a splendid in-joke.

Finally, consider his latest roles. In 'Click' he plays a well-tanned, money-raking, corporate thief of time, surrounded by big-boobed females. Needless to say (we would expect nothing less of Swayze) he shows us how empty this sorry excuse for a human being really is. If in Ghost, we could still wonder if this good-hearted hero isn't really a dhinger, here he shows us his political integrity is on subtle display but very much present. In light of this, I'd argue that Pamela's implants were indeed tongue in cheek (probably even in her own eyes and certainly to someone of Patrick Swayze's caliber). Swayze hasn't really sold out. His face might look a little less noble and pathetic than it did once, but his spirit - through different means in different films - remains true.

Musical Idea

I was thinking of doing a a musical on The Iraq War was wrong. I have my Casio keyboard from Christmas 1987 which is pretty cool b/c it's has not only the white ones (buttons/clefs?) for notes but also yellow hexagons which are the drums. You can do Low Tom/High Tom or switch it around for Bongo or Hand Clap it's pretty good. And then there's of course the rhythm/accompaniment where it just plays the musics by itself (!) like Pops, Bossa Nova or whatever. I use to be able to play the first part of Blue Monday on it. (just the drums) So now recent I started to make a musical with it. (This was last night after I had finished Sex In the City DVD for 3rd time)

I'm still in a the working stage's but the musical would be about a group of bohemian type young people who live in The Village (which I hear is a place in New York or maybe Miami?) who have a avant garde/progressive type lifestyles. (Like, they live in Lofts, wear clothes taht look faded, and the can have dreadlock's even if there not black). And the like to dance and break out in singing from temps a time. Anyways it turns out that the main guy is a struggles because, of how he's against The Iraq War. (This take's place in 2003-04, it's a hestorical piece so we would have to get hte period costuming correct ect, also like everone would have iPod's but it would be the older kind of iPod's)

Anyways like I was saying the central conflict is that the guy is so opposed to The Iraq War to the very depth of his being, whereas meanwhile his friend's/peers are, while they are opposed to it to, just aren't quite as opposed to it with as much vemencitude as he is. (Only like 90-93% as much for example). And how he deals with that and struggles with it, how it isolates him from them because of his political beliefs compare to them. I think its going to be good as long as I get the music right. (I'm not using Bossa Nova so much but Pops 2 works for alot of the songs I've wroten so far).

I'll keep you guys posted and meanwhile look for it sometime on Broadway or Off Broadway or whatever's call because I'm sure i'ts will get there.

My Coffee Receipe

While were waiting to see whether there's a election here's how I like to make coffee. I put in the coffee in (the thing). French pressed or whatever's call. The coffee by this point is still a the powder. I like to use Chalk Full'O Nuts because I heard nuts is good for protein/Adkin's. But powder(don't like to grind). Someone already grinded.

I use two spoonses which is the spoon that I put in the coffee can (one an the same). The both go in there. MEANTIME I forgot to say that by this time I've been boiling water all this time. Using a teapot that goes on the fire and gets hot until it make's the water inside to boiling. I lost the thing that goes on the sprout so, It doesn't make the wissle sound anymore (you have to guess when's it boiled and or when's it not boiled yet?). But usually I can tell (I'm pretty good that way).

When it's was boiled you pour it in there (the thing). All the way to the top as much you can but not reaching the pour sprout part. NOW this steps is improtant here. You put the plunger on top but ONLY push down a little way's down. Just make the plunger is touching the water just a little and force the powder to be in the water.

I think alot of people mess that part up. Just a guess.

Anyways the powder will still be not very much coffeed yet. It's still kind of dryed (even some bubbles in it) which is THAT is why you have to wait. The basic test is is the powder floating or sinking. At the beginning it's still floating that's how you know it's not done. THEN here's what you do you push the plunger down about 12mm and than quickly pull it back up to starting position.

If the powder floats sticks straight back to the top you know you gotta to wait alittle more. BUT a another thing that could happen, is, the powder swirl's around and mixes totallally all around with the water now. If THAT happens your good to go. The coffee's almost ready.

But not quite. The final part is when you push the plunger all the way down. There is an art to this because you can't force it. I like to push a certain force (hard to explain how much force- kind of enough force that would squeeze a marshmallow but not smoosh it). You push GENTLE FORCE on the plunger and see what happen. Maybe it will go down with no resistance. Or it will offer resistance. IF RESISTANCE YOU HAVE TO WAIT>

So that step's is- gentle force to slide, until resistance, then repeat. AGain. Gentle slide. resistance. Repeat. At some point the plunger just slides easily and THAT's how you know your done. Put it all the way down and pour the coffee. Be sure to add lotsa of cream lotsa sugar which is how I like it because which is how The Wolf from Pulp Fiction likes it which, if it's good enough for the Wolf well hey that's good enough for me.

A final note is don't put the thing in the dishwasher afterwards nor don't wash with soap. Just rinse with hot water and let to dry. Reason being is you want the coffee oils to stay there on the sides of the glass not to go away and have squeaky soapy glass. Just my preference but its better that way (also makes the slidey steps above more accurate IHMO).

Guys has anyone hearded ANYTHIGN about the election? Reason I ask is I was cathing up on Gilmour Girls bulleting board reading and someone wrote that they thought Bush was going to use the PATRIOT ACT to cancel the election for "national security".

And lo the behold we were suppose to have a alection and NADA. Radio silents. Could is a be coincidents(no I think, not). And where is are "so" call "liberal" media. This is getting RELLY scarey people.

Can Bush do this? If we let him get with him he can(are we going to?). Wahts going on here anyways in MY country. Or at least I thoughted it was my country but appaerently all this time it's was never mind in the frist place? Scarey times we live in.
